About Us
Our Commitment
At The Ethical Uniform Company we are committed to providing the most superior quality, premium design, sustainable uniform that prioritises the hospitality and service industry without compromising the planet.
Acknowledging the garment manufacturing industry as well as the service industry are both environmentally adverse, the Ethical Uniform Company was founded to combine our abilities, our skill and our busniess to do something about it. We start from the very beginning …
OUR FABRICS & FACTORIES
We start from the very beginning of the supply chain carefully selecting and supply clothing made only from the most sustainable virgin materials. We use fabric such as recycled polyester (containing ocean bound plastic, and post consumer plastic waste which is then melted down, incorporated into yarn and made into clothing. This stops plastic from entering into landfill or even worse our oceans). We further use certified organic cotton, made without toxic pesticides and fertilisers (being one of the largest causes of dead zones in our oceans today). We are continuously on a mission to find new, innovative sustainable materials to offer you the most robust & responsible uniform.
We go against the fast fashion grain and only source clothing that has been produced in fair trade factories, up holding strict socially responsible manufacturing processes as we do not believe our uniform should come at the expense of peoples welfare either. Everyone in the manufacturing of the uniform we provide has been provided safe, clean, discrimination free, human work practices.
ENERGY & WATER
The textile industry is responsible for a large proportion of the worlds energ consumption and there for Co2 emissions. Furthermore one cotton t-shirt is responsible for thousands of litres of water from the growing of the cotton to the dying process, finishing and washing of the shirts. We know that we can not combat the use of energy and water within clothing manufacturing completely but we make it our mission to carefully select, source a supply uniform that uses the least amount possible the world’s precious resources. We only work with partners that are strictly conscious of their consumption and are actively trying to reduce their impact.

GIVING BACK & OUR IMPACT
Our mission is to use business as a force of good and Give Back to our planet and people, creating positive impact where ever we can.
Through offering sustainably made uniform and using the materials listed above we are recycling plastic rather than having it end up in landfill or our oceans, we are further reducing the amount of material needed withihn the textiole industry and on the planet and reducing toxic pesticides and fertilisers from seeping into our oceans and killing our marine life.
We further dedicate a percentage of profits from every sale back to social and environmental causes that we believe in, such as The Plastic bank – an organisation on the front line of our worlds plastic crisis. The Plastic Bank pays people in poorer coastal communities in the form of secure income and life-improving benefits that include access to health, work and life insurance, social assistance, digital connectivity and banking services. This circular system saves ocean plastic as well as reduces world poverty.
So far we have helped remove over half a million (589,774) plastic bottles from our oceans to date.
