Our Fabrics & Factories

We begin at the very start of the supply chain, carefully selecting garments made from the most sustainable materials available. Our fabrics include recycled polyester created from ocean-bound plastic and post-consumer waste, which is processed into new yarns and transformed into high-quality clothing. By giving plastic a second life, we help reduce landfill waste and prevent pollution from reaching our oceans.

We also use certified organic cotton, grown without toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilisers - chemicals that contribute significantly to environmental damage, including ocean dead zones. Sustainability is an ongoing journey for us, and we are constantly exploring innovative, lower-impact materials that allow us to deliver uniforms that are both durable and responsibly made.

We stand firmly against fast fashion. Every garment we source is produced in fair trade factories that uphold strict ethical and socially responsible manufacturing standards. We believe no uniform should come at the expense of human welfare. Everyone involved in the production of our garments works in safe, clean, inclusive, and discrimination-free environments, supported by fair and respectful working conditions.

Energy & Water

The textile industry is one of the world’s largest consumers of energy and water, contributing significantly to global carbon emissions
While we recognise that energy and water use cannot be eliminated entirely from clothing manufacturing, we are committed to minimising impact wherever possible. Our mission is to carefully select and supply uniforms made with the most resource-conscious processes and materials available, helping to reduce pressure on the planet’s precious natural resources.

We work exclusively with partners who share our values - manufacturers and suppliers who are actively monitoring, reducing, and improving their environmental footprint through more responsible production practices.

Take Back & Give Back

At the Ethical Uniform Company, our responsibility extends beyond the delivery of your uniform. We offer a considered, closed-loop system designed to reclaim and regenerate your uniforms, ensuring nothing is wasted, and everything has purpose.

A CIRCULAR PROCESS

Give Back: Your used uniforms are sent back to one of our Ethical Uniform Company Hubs, which we hand over to our partners at Gaia Circular.

Sorting: Each garment is assessed and separated by material and composition.

Regeneration: The textiles are broken down and refined into reusable raw fibres through an advanced recycling processes.

Recreation: These fibres are re-spun and re-engineered into premium fabrics.

Reintroduction: The materials return to production – reborn as high-performance, responsibly crafted work wear, socks, roads and other items.

GIVE BACK

We don’t just stop there, we also give back a percentage of profits from every sale to ocean clean up.
We have so far sponsored the removal of over 1 MILLION plastic bottles out of our oceans. We help pay people in poorer coastal communities to pick up plastic as jobs in exchange for life improving benefits. This circular system stops ocean plastic and aids in improving world poverty.

Help us on our journey of saving our oceans through better uniform choices today.
